You know, I never thought I’d actually be this excited to write about an exhibition, but here I am, giggling like a kid as I recall my visit to the Fukuoka Art Museum for the Hello Kitty Exhibition. I mean, who wouldn’t be charmed by a world where everything is just cuteness overload?
As soon as I stepped through those doors, it was like entering a candy-colored wonderland. Every inch, from the walls to the ceiling, was drenched in Kitty’s charm. I literally gasped, and not gonna lie, I might’ve squealed a bit. 
The Sweetest Nostalgia Trip
Walking through the exhibition was like flipping through the pages of my childhood. Remember those cute Hello Kitty school supplies? They had them all! From pencil cases to little pouches that my grandparents used to gift me. It was like a warm hug from the past, and man, did it make my heart swell with nostalgia.
One of the coolest parts was spotting the regional Kitty merchandise. Like, the ones you’d have begged your parents for on a family trip. Seeing them all lined up was like a mini-travel down memory lane.

And the photo spots? Oh, boy, were they Insta-worthy! They had these giant Kitty figures and entire walls decked out in Kitty prints. It was a snapper’s paradise. I shared a pic on WhatsApp before I even left, lol.

Now, the gift shop was another adventure. With the cutest exclusive merch, from bags to keychains, I was like a kid in a candy store. And yes, I did indulge—couldn’t resist a bag with a mystery Kitty design. Those were ¥1,500 each (around $10 USD), and honestly, worth every yen for the joy of opening them.
The whole experience was like meeting an old friend who has grown with you. I felt like Kitty had been there, subtly mirroring my own changes and joys.
