Hey there! So, the other day I totally went on a spontaneous food adventure in Yokohama Chinatown. Let me tell you, I didn’t expect to be so blown away by the sheer variety of eats there. Picture this: the air was filled with the savory aroma of sizzling dumplings and sweet buns, and it was like a foodie’s paradise!
First stop was this amazing Beijing Duck specialty shop, 王朝. I mean, who can resist crispy duck skin? I grabbed a single roll for ¥420 (about $3 USD), and oh my goodness, it was heavenly. The second I took a bite, I was like, ‘Why didn’t I come here sooner?’

Next, I headed over to 鵬天閣 for some Shanghai Xiao Long Bao, and you know what? The juicy pork and seafood dumplings were such a treat for just ¥750 (around $5 USD). Honestly, I was tempted to order seconds!
Now, I can’t forget the quirky ハリネズミまん at 富泰楼. It was adorable and only ¥400 (about $2.70 USD) for two. I literally gasped at how cute they were and, not gonna lie, had a good chuckle before devouring them.

Unexpected Delights
While wandering around, I stumbled upon 西遊記 and tried their 叉焼メロンパン. Never thought I’d pair char siu with a melon bun, but it worked! And for ¥550 (about $3.70 USD), it was a steal.
One quirky moment? I told my mom about it, and now she’s insisting we go together next weekend. Moms, right?
When to Go and Tips
Best advice? Avoid weekends unless you love crowds! I went mid-week, and it was still bustling but not overwhelming. Bring cash, too, because a lot of these places don’t take cards.
And don’t forget to try the 台湾ドーナツ at oh!! I grabbed a matcha-flavored one for ¥350 (about $2.30 USD), and it was just the right amount of sweet to end the day.
All in all, if you’re up for an adventure and love trying new flavors, Yokohama Chinatown is a must-visit. I’d totally go back—just not in the summer heat, lol. If it sounds fun, go for it—I’d love to hear what you think!
